The great melon squabble

Long ago, in a land that time forgot – Verona Hills circa 2008 – the Oaks and the Ashes are locked in a deadly feud. No – it is not a battle between horse racing and international cricket but rather a feud between two communities.

Two households, both alike in dignity,

In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,

From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,

Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.

And it is up to the students at Verona Hills High School to move beyond the violence of the past that has torn the community asunder. They are helped in this by a pair of rhyming “star-cross’d lovers ” from the pages of a play script.

Aided by Cupid they take a look at this ancient feud where violence erupts between the Ashes and the Oaks at the bitterly contested Great Melon Squabble. Much hilarity, song and dance, violence and romance ensue.

Yes – it was last week’s wonderful and original musical Such Sweet Sorrow

Thanks everyone – it was a really great show. Here are a few pictures to remind you of all the fun.
